"The first two statements I have heard at every interview I've had, and I have had many, mention the quality of my resume and website. I have no doubt that my site has had a positive effect on my first impression to employers by providing a pre-interview notion of my personality, professionalism, and creativity. I have had great successes in my job search because I have made every effort to do at least a few things completely different than my peers. An e-portfolio has been one of the most effective."
Straightforward and honest, Joshua, (Environmental Systems Engineering, 2005), has made effective use of his e-Portfolio to share with potential employers a side of himself that just isn't possible to do in a resume.
The striking images, photos that Joshua took, invite the viewer and provide a context for his program of study. Joshua's site does not contain many graphics, but what he chooses and where they are located all work to support his overall professional and creative message.

Joshua provides his own interpretation of what his degree means to him. Clearly this type of well-articulated insight helps to differentiate Joshua from someone who has taken the courses to someone who can DO Environmental Systems Engineering!

Don't you get the sense after reading Joshua's Course Reflection that he not only understands and will use what he learned, but that he also really enjoys what he is doing?! Joshua understands the power of reflection!

Rather than include photos in a gallery, Joshua puts together a sampling of positive, professional, family and fun images into a collage at the top of this page to great effect.
